Candlewood Apartments
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Built in 1968 by the Rendek Group, the Candlewood high-rise complex is an all cast-in-place reinforced concrete, 59-suite apartment building finished in masonry brick and Saskatchewan fieldstone.
This building was one of the first high-rise buildings in Saskatoon to be built using a tower crane. Concrete pours continued throughout the cold prairie winters while the building was hoarded and heated to accommodate the adverse winter conditions.
Over 10% of the residents are original tenants of this primarily seniors occupied building.
